Crime Prevention Tips

  • Lock windows/doors to your house and vehicles....DOUBLE CHECK TO ENSURE THEY'RE LOCKED
Windows/doors were not locked on the VAST majority of reported thefts
Do not keep anything of value in your vehicle (and definitely don't let any items in your vehicle remain in plain sight!)
  • Secure all property inside home or shed
Keep all property out of plain sight
Ensure all property is at least secured by a reliable lock
Gates surrounding property should be closed and secured by a lock when not in use
  • Keep documentation regarding the serial #'s of all property
    Especially lawn equipment
  • Have a motion activated light on the front and rear of your home
Vast majority of burglaries/thefts occur at night
  • Keep good communication with your neighbors
Word of mouth goes a long way in preventing future crimes
  • Keep landscaping clear to allow "natural surveillance" of your property
  • Sliding glass doors need special locks and bars to prevent criminals from lifting them up and getting inside
  • Install security cameras
